Yebisu Garden Place

Yebisu Garden PlaceYebisu Garden Place is a new town created by redevelopment of the site of a factory.
There are commercial facilities, restaurans, offices, residences and hotels, and they are in several buildings in the area.
It is located about 0.5 km southeast of JR Ebisu station.

In 1889, current Sapporo Breweries, one of the major beer breweries, built the factory, and had produced "Yebisu Beer".
And current Ebisu station was built for the transportation of the beer.
("Ye" in the word of "Yebisu" is one of the old spelling in Japanese, then we commonly use "e" now. So the station name is "Ebisu".)
In 1988, the production of the beer had been moved, then this factory was closed.
After the redevelopment, this facility was opened in 1994.

From Ebisu station, "Ebisu Sky Walk" runs. It is a moving sidewalk which is about 400 meters long, and it takes about 5 minutes to Yebisu Garden Place.

Over 10 buildings are in this site, but outdoor space is wide.

There is the building of the headquarters of Sapporo Brewaries, and the building has "Beer Museum Yebisu".
And in this site, there is Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
