Nyuto hot spring resort is located about 10 km northeast of Lake Tazawa.
The vowels in the word "Nyuto" are pronounced long, so it is read as "Nyûtô".

It is on the west foot of Mount Nyuto (1,478 meters high), and there are seven hot springs within a range of 3 km.

There is a Japanese-style hotels (ryokan) by each hot spring.

Since the 1980s, many Japanese people have wanted to visit obscure and calm hot spring resort, because popular hot spring resorts had become the town which is crowded and bustling.

This hot spring resort is one of such homely resorts, then ironically such location had generated popularity.

By the way, "Nyuto" means "nipple".

The reason why this name was given is uncertain.
But, I'm sure you think that the peak of Mount Nyuto looks like a woman's breast.
In addition, the color of water of hot spring is white like milk.
