Nintendo Museum [ニンテンドーミュージアム]
Nintendo Museum is a museum introducing various game products of Nintendo company.
Nintendo (任天堂) is an old company in Kyoto.
It was founded in 1889, and has produced playing cards, Japanese traditional playing cards and the tiles of mahjong game.
In 1970s, it developed arcade video games and the video games had been popular.
In 1981, "Mario" appeared in "Donkey Kong" game.
In 1983, it launched "Family Computer" for the home and the video game "Super Mario Brothers" had been popular.
Since that, Nintendo became a worldwide game company.
The factory is in Uji city and this museum was opened in 2024.

Hanafuda, Japanese traditional playing cards
In the museum, you can experience various game products.
And, there is a workshop to experience to make "Hanafuda" which is a Japanese traditional playing card.
The museum is opened every day except for Tuesday and from December 30 to January 3.
But, you need to make a reservation online in advance.
Only the visitor having the ticket issued according to the procedure can enter the museum.

By JR Nara Line, from Kyoto to JR-Ogura station, about 28 minutes by local train.
Or, by Kintetsu Kyoto Line, from Kyoto to Ogura station, about 24 minutes by local train.
About 5 to 8 minutes walk from the stations.
