Omicho Market is a market with many retail stores.
Both "o"s in "Omicho" are pronounced long, so the name is "Ômichô-ichiba" in Japanese.
It is located about 1 km southeast of Kanazawa station and is just midway between the station and Kanazawa Castle.
It is said that the market started in around 1721, and it is still a main market in Kanazawa.
The district of the market is about 300 meters from east to west and about 130 meters from north to south.
There are about 170 small shops in the market.
There is a building Omicho Ichibakan in the northwest part of the district and some shops are in the building.
Many fish shops sell the fresh fishes taken from the Sea of Japan, and vegetable shops sell the vegetables and fruits harvested in this region.

And there are many shops of process foods and take-out side dishes.
There are small restaurants, and many of them are sushi bars using the fresh fishes.
Most retail stores open from around 8:00 to around 17:00, and many of restaurants close around 17:00 to 19:00.

By route bus (Kanazawa Loop Bus [Left Loop] or Kenrokuen Shuttle), about 5 minutes from Kanazawa station.
Or, about 15 minutes walk from Kanazawa station.
