Ghibli Park
Ghibli Park is a theme park by Studio Ghibli which is a Japanese animated film production company.
It is in Nagakute city and is located about 18 km east of Nagoya station.
Originally, this area was a natural park and it was used as one of the sites of Aichi Expo (Exposition of Global Harmony) in 2005.
At that time, "Satsuki and Mei's house" in "My Neighbor Totoro" (Tonari no Totoro), a work of Studio Ghibli (1988), was set up in the park.
After the 10th anniversary of the Expo in 2015, Aichi Prefecture suggested to Studio Ghibli to produce a facility for enjoying the world of Studio Ghibli as a legacy of the Expo.
Then, the theme park was opened in 2022.
Therefore, this theme park has no dynamic attraction such as roller coaster and thrill ride.
The name of the site is Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen ("Expo 2005 Commemorative Park" in English).
The Expo’s official mascots was "Morizo" and "Kiccoro", so the park is also called Mori-coro Park.
The park measures 1.5 km from east to west and 1.5 km from north to south.
There are gardens, forests, gardens and public squares in the park.
Five attraction areas are dotted in the park, and each has a facility for based on any works of Studio Ghibli.
You can feel the real world of the work in the facilities.
The site is a public park, so you can enjoy taking a walk for free.
