Kishamichi is a promenade connecting Nippon-maru Memorial Park area and Shinko district which is the east part of Minato Mirai 21 and there are Red Brick Warehouse and Yokohama Cosmo World.
"Kisha" means "steam locomotive", and "michi" means "road".
From 1911 to 1986, here was a section of branch line for freight train.
The freight trains had run on this line to carry the freight between the warehouses around Yokohama Port and the freight station of Yokohama.
Because it passes on the waterway of Yokohama Port, there were three truss bridges.
The bridges were constructed in 1906 and 1907, so they remain on the promenade as important historical structures.
