Ueno Farm [上野ファーム]
Ueno Farm is a popular sightseeing garden in Asahikawa, and is located about 12 km east-northeast of the center of Asahikawa city.
This garden was created by Ueno Sayuki in 2001.
Her home is a rice farmer, but she learned gardening in England.
After her return, she created the garden in the site of her home.
She designed it as an English garden at first, and opened to the public.
After that, she added her originality matching to the climate of Hokkaido.
So, she calls the style of the garden as "Hokkaido garden".
The site of garden forms a rectangle with the longest side about 200 meters long and the short side about 150 meters long.
There is an observariry hill in the north part, and varied gardens are arranged around the hill.
This garden opens from late April to the middle of October.
There is a cafe in the site and it opens for all seasons.
How to get here
When you use route bus, go to "Ichijo-Hacchome" stop first.
It is located about 150 meters from Asahikawa station.
Get on the bus with route No.666.
Get off at "Ueno Farm mae" stop. About 45 minutes.
