Universal Studios Japan (USJ)

Universal Studios JapanUniversal Studios Japan is a theme park located near Osaka Port.
It is the theme park of Universal Studios, one of the six major American movie studios, and was opened in 2001.

This is one of the most popular theme parks in Japan, and more than 8 million people a year visit here.
It is the second most visitors in Japan, after Tokyo Disney Resort.

The width of the park is about 29 hectares.
There are about 20 attractions in 9 areas. The areas are the towns such as Hollywood, New York, and some famous movies such as Jurassic Park, Jaws.
Recently, the attractions of fairy tales such as Peter Pan, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the populat characters in Japan such as Hello Kitty has been added.

Next to the park, there is Universal Citywalk.
It is a commercial complex, and many restaurants, fast-food shops, various shops and convenient stores are in the facility.

And there are a few large hotels around the park.

How to get to here

By JR

  • Universal City (Yumesaki Line). About 5 minutes from Nishi-Kujo on Osaka-Kanjosen.

By express bus

  • About 45 minutes from Itami Airport.
  • About 1 hour 10 minutes from Kansai International Airport.
